Broadband gets disconnected if I run some apps

Ok. My Windows 2000 is acting really weird. When I start up Photoshop or Winamp.. my internet just stops. ICQ works but the rest is not working.

 

What can be causing this?

 

Can I solve it by downloading a patch for Windows 2000?

 

Please help me.
