Neus 0 Posted December 29, 2003 ok... this is really starting to annoy me, but when u install some extra programs from the pacakages menu under configuration, it always messes up some desktop icons, and quite a few or all the icons in the kicker... in addition to this, many of the programs are also missing from the kicker... somehow i fixed this once, but its happened again, and dont know what i did last time that fixed it. Neus 0 Posted December 29, 2003 lol.. fixed it again... took me awhile to find it, but i could easily open menudrake and just tell it to save and it modifies it back to normal... sry Share this post Link to post
Dapper Dan 0 Posted December 29, 2003 The next time you sign in, instead of using Kde or Gnome, try IceWM if you installed "other desktop environments" during install. IceWM is simpler, cleaner much faster and extremely configurable with "Icepref" which is right there when you right click on the desktop for the menu. Here's one of my old IceWM screens from about 9 months ago... http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/352713/DapperDanDesktop.jpg Share this post Link to post

Neus 0 Posted December 29, 2003 ... anyways i dont minde kde taking a bit longer loading... ive gotten to know how to use it better and better, and it looks nice... but where did u get the windows 98 emulator or whatever? i noticed it on ur menu, and was wondering if there is a free download anywhere... cause i have some stuff that will only run under windows and wonder if that would do da trick... if not ill MAYBE get another computer soon then i could dual boot it or sumtin... tho personaly, i would want to change the windows xp to windows me or windows 2000 or something... xp is sucky... maybe even 98 Share this post Link to post
Dapper Dan 0 Posted December 29, 2003 It's Win4Lin, and will only work with Windows 98 type os. It will not work with xp type os. It isn't free, but is well worth it. It'll cost around 90 dollars, but it will run most all Windows 98 type software except games. Share this post Link to post
