Now that the holidays are behind us, it's time for the periodical –

but rarely boring – SCALE 12X updates. As the schedule is being

finalized, a variety of news abounds for the first-of-the-year North

American expo for Linux and Free/Open Source Software and Hardware,

-- Lights, Camera, Video: Many of the presentation videos from last

year's SCALE 11X are up on the SCALE YouTube channel, with more being

-- upSCALE Talks: There are still time slots available for the Friday

night upSCALE talks. The upSCALE talks, held in the style of the

Ignite presentations, gives participants five minutes to speak on a

subject accompanied by 20 automatically-advanced slides, making this a

fast paced, fun event for participants and audience. To submit a talk,

-- SCALE: The Next Generation: SCALE TNG, the conference by youth for

youth, is putting the final touches on the one-day segment of SCALE

12X. If you are a teen having something to say about Free/Open Source
